How to Check Your Car Before Renting
Renting a car in Morocco—whether it’s for a weekend getaway or a business trip—should be simple and stress-free. At Etalon Car in Rabat, we always make sure our vehicles are in great condition before handing over the keys. But it’s still a good idea to do your own quick check when picking up a car.
Here are a few things you can look over to feel confident before you drive away:
1. Walk Around the Car
Take a few minutes to look at the exterior. Check for any visible scratches, dents, or marks. If you see anything, make sure it’s noted before you leave, just to avoid confusion later.
2. Look at the Tires
Check that the tires aren’t worn out and that they look well inflated. If something seems off, ask a staff member—your safety always comes first.
3. Test the Lights
Switch on the headlights, brake lights, and turn signals. Especially if you’ll be driving at night or heading outside the city, this is important.
4. Take a Quick Peek Inside
Open the doors and take a moment to look at the seats, dashboard, and windows. Make sure everything is clean and working, and that there’s no strange smell or issue.
5. Start the Engine
Turn the key or press the start button and listen for any strange sounds. Everything should run smoothly. If the car feels unusual, let us know—we’ll be happy to swap it.
6. Check the Fuel Level
We’ll usually point this out for you, but it’s good to double-check. Some cars come with a full tank, others with half—it depends. Make sure you know how much fuel you’re starting with.
No matter what kind of car you choose—compact, luxury, or SUV—we’re here to make sure your rental goes smoothly. We deliver to Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, and everywhere in between.
If anything ever feels unclear, just ask. Our team is always ready to help.
